Questions

How do I compare two PDF files for differences?
Add the original and the new version, and the text of both is compared line by line. Added and removed lines are listed with their page numbers, so you can go straight to each change.
Can I compare two versions of a contract?
Yes — it is one of the most common uses, and because nothing leaves your browser the documents stay private. Only the words are compared, so a change of font or layout alone will not show up; read the flagged changes against the original before relying on them.
Does it compare how the pages look, or just the text?
Just the text. Fonts, spacing, colours and images are not compared, so a document that was only restyled will come back as having no differences.
Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
No. Both files are read and compared entirely in your own browser — nothing leaves your computer at any point.
Why does my scanned PDF show no text?
A scan is a picture of words, not words. Run it through OCR PDF first to add a real text layer, then compare the result.
